Welcome to the Society of County Treasurers Website

The Society of County Treasurers (SCT) is comprised of all Chief Financial Officers from shire counties in English local government. Following the reorganisation of local government in 1997, the SCT expanded to include authorities other than shire counties that had similar vested interests in local government issues. Thus, the newly formed Isle of Wight Council, East Riding of Yorkshire and Herefordshire unitary authorities also became members of the SCT. Together these authorities represent 48% of the population of England and provide services across 87% of its land area.
